Michelle Still, Auxiliary President - Our meeting on Dec. 12th is our Christmas Party and we will start at 7:00 pm. Please join us for pot luck and fun & games. Please bring a snack to share as well as a white elephant gift for the exchange. We also will collect items that can be used asbingo prizes. We donate these items to the Chisago County Senior Center.

We have planned Christmas parties for our veterans in assisted living where we will have treats and small gifts for them. We will be at Ecumen on Dec. 7th at 2:00 PM and at Bickford Suite Living (formerly Gracewood) on Dec. 12th at 2:00 pm. The residents enjoy our company and treats very much. Please come to help pass out their gifts and visit with them. I hope to see some new faces at our parties.

Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy the holidays and remember a veteran in some way.

Orv Otterness, Post Service Officer - Some reminders for you... Have you met the new County Veterans Service Officer. His office is in the Court House in Center City. Stop in and introduce yourself. His name is Bryan Brown (651)213-5600

Every member of the American Legion Family is a member of the American Legion Family Hospital Association. This Association is unique to Minnesota. If you have medical bills you need help with check for the application forms online or give me a call. They are simple to fill out and can bring you some financial aid with bills you might need help getting paid off. This does not include dental or eye care. You must not pay the bill; they do not do reimbursement. Rather, let your medical provider know you are applying for some financial help.

Veterans Day is November 11. Enjoy free meals offered by various restaurants. Stop and visit a fellow veteran who can’t get out.

Julie Solle, Ambassador Coordinator, Elise, Madison and Michaela, Ambassadors! - With Christmas just around the corner, the Midsummer Ambassadors have been busy with events and volunteering! Most recently they participated in the Cambridge Snow Flake parade, dressed as Penguins and won the award for best walking unit as they waddled through the parade and interacted with the crowd! The Ambassadors volunteered at the Veterans Day dinner on Nov 11th, congratulations SAL on a great turnout! The dinner was wonderful! As I write this, we are preparing for our first ever Light up the Night, Christmas parade in North Branch and we are very excited to be a participant in this event!

We wish you and your families a joyous Christmas season and an exceptional 2018!!

Glenn Pierce, Gaming Manager - If we do not receive some relief from the excessive taxes imposed on us by the State of Minnesota we may have to close our doors. In FY2013 we netted 6.47 cents on every dollar sold to support our programs and building costs. In FY2017 that has dropped to 3.84 cents, by 2020 is is expected to be under 2 cents and before 2022 it may be a negative number, info from the ACM website Without charitable gaming we cannot support our current programs or even keep the doors open on our building. Please contact our representative Anne Neu (651)296-5377 or Senator Mark Koran (651)296-5419 to ask for relief. Please call, write or email to ask for relief.
