Michelle Still, Auxiliary President - Minnesota Girls State is our primary community outreach program that has a positive impact on our organization, our mission and our nation. Each year our unit sponsors at least one girl to attend a week of learning focused on citizenship, leadership and love for God and Country. If you know any girl in 11th grade, please encourage her to express her interest to the high school career counselor. We will be interviewing in March. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Julie Solle, Midsummer Ambassador Coordinator - I am very pleased to announce that past Ambassador Lydia Olund and Renee Egan will be coordinating the Midsummer Ambassador program beginning this spring with the 2018 Candidates! Thank you so much Lydia and Renee, you'll truly enjoy this experience as I have for the past 11 years! The highlight of January for Ambassadors Elise, Madison and Michaela was the St Paul Winter Carnival weekend. The event was from Thursday to Sunday. The Ambassadors attended the Queen of the Lakes coronation, went sledding, toured Rice Park, ice skating, painting class, participated in the Winter Carnival parade along with many other events and activities as well as made many new friends and great memories! Thanks to all who made this possible for these young women! The Ambassadors hope to see you all for some frosty fun over Winter Fest in North Branch February 8th, 9th and 10th!!

Orv Otterness, Post Service Officer - I am spending some time away from Minnesota’s snow and ice. While visiting here and there I have been told by younger veterans they intend to join a veterans organization sometime. We need to be sure we keep inviting them to join us. They also told me we need to be more visible on social media. I believe we are working on that and we need to expand on that. Remember to contact your County Service Officer if you have medical issues or other concerns. And, remember to stay in contact with our legislators on veterans and military concerns.

Glenn Pierce, Gaming Manager - We have brought back etabs to the American Legion Clubroom. More game selections, better graphics and more interactive play, make the games more interesting and all games payout the State maximum of 85%. Now with the addition of bingo that can be played at any time and has a progressive jackpot that can build to $2500. Stop by and give them a try. Every other Thursday we have also added a $100 meat package to our regular Thursday Night Meat Raffle, every spin of the wheel awards a meat package plus and additional prize. Look for Purse Bingo on March 2nd. Every game will award a prize worth $100+.
