Rick Hals, Commander - Greetings on a very cool night. The post has a few new projects I will pass on. The 1st one is the tile in the bar area, Randy located the tile and a tentative date of Feb. 18 thru Mar. 1st for the work to be done. Second project is 4 new mail boxes to be installed at the top of the stairs going into the meeting room. There is one for Legion Auxiliary, SAL, and the
ALR and one for membership.

At the last two meetings there has been larger attendance, I do hope it will continue, its nice to see new people coming to the meetings. Also, remember to sign up for a brick at the new Veterans Memorial, new registration forms are soon to be available. Until next time have a warm and safe February.

Michelle Still, Auxiliary President - Public relations is your job, too. The success of our programs is due to the support and volunteerism of our members. Every member of the Auxiliary should help communicate to the public the value the American Legion Auxiliary provides to the community and the country. Dept. President Jean Walker wants us to focus on "Who we are, what we do and why we matter!" What is your favorite Auxiliary program? Share your passion and enthusiasm for our organization and those we serve.

Glenn Pierce, Adjutant - Life Line Screening will be in North Branch at the American Legion Hall 9 AM Saturday February 2nd.
Life Line Screening is the world’s leading provider of preventive health screenings.

The screenings offer a 5 test package to thoroughly check you for risk of stroke, cardiovascular disease and other chronic conditions. The combination of these test help detect problems – before you have symptoms and while your doctor can still take action. So you can keep doing the things you love. Many events also offer blood tests, including cholesterol, glucose and C-Reactive protein screenings, as well as take-home colon cancer early detection tests. Screening packages start at $149. Single tests cost around $70.

Glenn Pierce, Gaming Manager - We are again asking our Minnesota Law Makers to give us some relief on the taxes we pay for having Charitable Gambling to raise the funds we need for ALL our Legion programs. We have our first bill numbers of the session.
The premise with all of our bills this year is that there is enough money to ensure that the Vikings stadium bonds are paid, there is money for the general fund and there is more than enough to give us relief. Our bills are designed to be a win/win for the state and us.

HF69/SF219 will exempt our donations from the gambling tax. It is projected by the state to be a $30 million dollar reduction in our taxes. SF219 chief author is Senator Nelson. Co-authors are Senators Chamberlain, B. Anderson, Kiffmeyer and Ingebrigtsen. HF69 chief author is Representative Dettmer. Co-authors are Representatives Ecklund, Davids, Gunther, Nornes, Pierson, Erickson and Nash. If any of these legislators represent you, make it a point to thank them.

Allied Charities of Minnesota believes we are on pace to send in $95 million dollars in gambling taxes this fiscal year. Contact your legislators. Ask your Representative to sign onto the bills. The Senate side is full, no other authors can be added. Ask your Senator to support the bill.
